The best place to begin curling is at the St. Catharines Golf & Country Club in the Friday Night mixed events. This league begins with instruction at the beginning of the season and includes a lot of brand-new curlers who are just learning the game. Games are 6 ends in length (rather than 8) to ensure that everyone has fun.

This spring, on Saturday, March 11, 2017, the Club is also holding a Curling Open House. This is a great chance to learn about the game. No special equipment is required - - the Club has brooms and sliders you can borrow. However we would urge you to dress in layers and to wear loose clothing. Tight jeans don't work well in the curling throwing maneuvre.
